After 43 years at the helm of Steinigke Showtechnic GmbH, Bernd Steinigke is handing over the company’s management entirely to his long-time colleague Matthias Schwab. At the turn of the year 2022/2023, the handover was officially implemented.
“What began almost 45 years ago as a hobby with a soldering iron in hand and a passion for sound and lighting technology, has developed into today’s Steinigke Showtechnic GmbH, thanks to the dedication of its many employees. Now, it is time to continue this success with drive and vitality”, says Bernd Steinigke, founder and holder of Steinigke Showtechnic GmbH. Together with his brother Klaus, he laid the groundwork for the now globally operating company in the 1970s. Now, at the turn of the year 2022/2023, Steinigke has entrusted the company’s management solely to his long-time co-managing director: “With more than 25 years of affiliation, ten of them as managing director, Matthias Schwab is not only a highly experienced industry expert, but has also played a decisive role in shaping the success of Steinigke Showtechnic. In recent years, he has already managed the operational business independently.”
Matthias Schwab, now sole managing director, believes in his team and, thus, looks optimistically towards the coming years: “After many years of working successfully and trustingly with Bernd Steinigke as part of the dual leadership team, I am all the more pleased to work with the highly committed personnel, formed in the past years, on the next chapters of the company’s history. It is my goal to do that with fresh ideas and by using proven methods in line with the holder’s spirit.”
As a veteran of event technology, Bernd Steinigke will of course remain connected to the industry even after his retirement from day-to-day business: “I still have a high affinity for the products and innovations in show technology. I am sure that the Steinigke team under the leadership of Matthias Schwab will inspire our customers with new, interesting products and ideas.” Despite the handover, the holder will continue to be available to the new management and personnel as an advisor.
