Today we present an important new feature concerning the licence management of the well-known Rentman software, which since its launch exactly ten years ago has been offered as an all-in-one solution with the same functionality available to every user. Over the years, the company has continually added new features and enhancements to meet the changing needs of various users. Over the past year, Rentman has been gathering feedback and needs from its customers, realising how important it was to have a more flexible version of the application. With this in mind, Rentman has introduced a new flexible licensing structure that will allow users to customize their account according to their business needs.

As of 8 November 2021, Rentman’s Lite, Classic and Pro licenses are no longer available to new users. Rentman is now a platform that can be customised with various products and add-ons.
Many users use Rentman for different purposes. There are those who use Rentman to register their material, those who use Rentman to manage their team, those who use Rentman to send quotes, and much more. Under the old licensing structure, everyone would have chosen the Lite, Classic or Pro version and would have had to pay for many features they would never have used. For this reason, the company has seen fit to give you the option to pay only for the functionality you actually need.
These changes also give new users the opportunity to start using Rentman to help them with their core needs and expand as they grow. For example, a service could start using Rentman to scan and track their material. Then, when they’re familiar with using the software, they can start adding products like Staff Planning or add-ons like Quoting and Invoicing.
How do the new licences work?
Rentman is now available as a platform that can be customised with various products and add-ons. When you create an account, you will pay a basic fee and a number of additional fees based on the number of products, add-ons and power users you choose to use. The Rentman workspace is now called the Rentman Platform, which can be used to collaborate on projects, manage tasks and make sure the right information finds the right people.
The two main products that can be added to the Rentman platform at this time are Personnel Planning and Inventory Planning. These products are available in different levels (Essentials, Standard and Pro) and can be purchased individually or together if you want to use Rentman as an all-in-one platform.
In addition to this, you can customise the products with add-ons such as Quoting, Invoicing and Material Tracking.
What effect will these changes have?
Those who used Rentman before 8 November 2021 will find a “Legacy Licence”. This means that you will be able to keep all the features you currently have access to, continue to pay the same monthly price as before, and will be able to adjust the number of power users you currently have. However, if you wish to access some of the features that will be released in the future, you will have to upgrade to one of the new licences. If you have Rentman from 8 November 2021 onwards, you will need to create a plan and choose the products and add-ons you need.

No, nothing will change for those who used Rentman before 8 November 2021. You will be able to keep all the features you currently have access to, and will continue to pay the same monthly price as before.
Will I be able to upgrade to a new licence?

If you decide not to upgrade to one of the new licences, you will still be able to use all the functionality you have. However, if you want to access some of the features that will be released in the future, you will have to upgrade to a new licence.
Will I still receive the same amount of support if I stay with my old licence?
Yes, free support is still available, as stated in the company’s Fair Use Policy.
