QSC Distributor Opens Demo & Training Facility in the Philippines

Manila, Philippines is home to the newest QSC demo and training center.  Opened by QSC distributor Qorsys AV Technologies in September 2019, customers can now get a unique, hands-on demonstration of the Q-SYS Ecosystem alongside QSC amplifiers and loudspeakers.

“We were looking to provide system integrators, consultants and other AV industry professionals with a way to effectively demonstrate Q-SYS to their customers,” explained Ramon Borja, General Manager of Qorsys. “The demo and training center lets us go beyond the spec sheet and deliver a truly hands-on experience for clients interested in audio, video and control solutions for their own applications.”

The highlight is a full Q-SYS connected conference room demonstration. The Q-SYS Core 110f Unified processor manages the audio, video and control processing for the space. Q-SYS Cores combine audio, video and control (AV&C) processing in a single piece of hardware, which customers immediately recognize as a way to decrease the amount of hardware in a space.  Further, it allows for much simpler scalability as a system expands, as there is never a need to add separate control processing hardware.

Also being showcased are the new Q-SYS NV Series network video endpoints, which offer high-quality (supporting resolutions up to 4K60 4:4:4), low-latency and network-efficient HDMI video distribution across a standard gigabit infrastructure.  The installation includes an NV Series encoder mounted underneath the conference table, which allows customers to integrate their laptops as a video source into the system. The video demonstration is rounded out with a Q-SYS PTZ-IP conference camera, which provides high-quality video feeds for use in soft-codec applications (such as Microsoft Teams or Zoom).

The Qorsys team deployed two Q-SYSnetwork touch screen controllers, which enable customers to control all aspects of the conference room, including native Q-SYS devices and connected third-party peripherals from a single touch panel. Visitors can test the system’s ability to control audio levels, lighting, blinds and the room’s projector while learning about useful control tools, such as the Q-SYS UCI Editor and Q-SYS Scripting Engine, both of which simplify third-party device integration into Q-SYS.

The solution was completed with a QSC SPA Series amplifier, which provides power to the QSC AcousticCoverage Series ceiling-mount loudspeakers.  The demo doesn’t stop in the conference room, however, as Qorsys has a full AcousticDesign Series and AcousticCoverage Series loudspeaker complement that customers can learn about and listen to, including surface-mount, ceiling-mount and pendant-mount enclosure types, which are powered by QSC CXD-Q Series network amplifiers.

The experience center is also equipped to host Q-SYS Level 1 & 2 Trainings along with Q-SYS Control 101 and 201 training events for system integrators and other industry professionals in the region. “We want customers and AV professionals to leave the center with a thorough understanding of the Q-SYS Ecosystem,” Borja explained further. “The feedback we’ve received thus far has been overwhelmingly positive.  We are thrilled to have partnered with QSC on this project!”
