PL+S 2018 – Vectorworks

As a joint effort between themselves, MA Lighting and Robe, Vectorworks are premiering a new data format, named the General Device Type Format (GDTF), which creates a unified definition for the exchange of device data between consoles, CAD and previsualization software.

The new format aims to bring together different workflows from the industry and remove the need for the manual mapping of data for intelligent fixtures. A common language can now be spoken, from the design stages right through to implementation of console and fixtures.

Vectorworks are of course also presenting the 2018 version of their powerful BIM Software Package, with Service Pack 3 presenting a plethora of new features. Photos to 3D Model, web view VR and Bluebeam integration have all been designed to add enhanced cloud power to the package, as well as further integration with Virtual Reality and New Reality.
