It’s only one year that we have been absent from the NAMM show in Anaheim, California. Today, we return to find a renewed event on the first day of the fair, thanks to the introduction of new pavilions and a constant stream of attendees!
We have learned, over the years, that the American market is in general one that is incredibly reactive. This is no different in the professional audio and musical instruments markets, so it is no surprise that what seemed to be a moment of “reflection” back to 2016’s show, appears today as a distant memory.
In the coming days we will of course collect and analyse the statistics and feedback from both the public and exhibitors at the show, but to see a queue for entry passes that spans over 500 meters tells us most of what we need to know.
The most important news, which also made us decide to return to California despite the journey and expense of another long haul international trip, is the presence of a new pavilion dedicated exclusively to professional audio. From what we saw during the first day, the response from both the public and companies was hugely positive, with many of the big brands present. There certainly seemed to be a constant flow to and from the pavillion.
As usual, the show has been organised with impeccable precision, with stewards and service staff in every corner of the fair. In short, if beginnings are anything to go by, this edition of NAMM 2018 promises many pleasant surprises.
