ETC is celebrating its 40th anniversary at LDI 2016 with an array of interesting new features, as well as a new logo.
Presented at the show is the whole family of ColorSource products, including the ColorSource and ColorSource AV consoles. We also have the new series of batten-style fixtures, ColorSource Linear, as well as the new adapter for the ColorSource 4WRD. On the architectural side, we have the Irideon FPZ projector and the new Prodigy® hoist. But the biggest reveal here at the show, kept secret until the final moment, is the new GIO @5 console, which is holding its international premiere right here in Las Vegas.
Belonging to the Eos family, GIO @5 is a compact console, ideal for locations where space and budget are limited. The handheld console allows the use of external monitors and accessories, whilst also including a 17″ multi-touch display. 5 customisable motorised faders and two master faders adorn the console, as well as a slide-out keyboard, backlit keys, 2 sets of keys on the left side of the screen, two network ports (Non-PSE) and 4 DMX / RDM connections. The console is of course compatible with all the accessories of the Eos series.
Another interesting innovation is the Source 4WRD, a Watt Reduction Device capable of converting a tungsten Source Four into an LED fixture, thereby reducing power consumption by 70% and heat emitted by 73%, and removing the need for future lamp replacement. With a total consumption of 155W, the Source 4WRD LED expresses the same light output as a 575W HPL source, with an efficiency increase of 350%. It also allows for dimming control via DMX-line in.
