For the first time ever, a band of 1,200 musicians performed before an enthusiastic audience, in a concert worthy to enter the Guinness Book of Records. Rockin ‘1000 ‘That’s live’ is all this and much more. After the epic Rockin’ 1000, Fabio Zaffagnini’s second venture is just as much of a success, with the event feedback going viral again.
This time it is not about convincing the Foo Fighters to play in Cesena. This time 1200 musicians from all over the world gathered together to show that their shared desire knows no obstacle, and that the passion for rock music unites people regardless of their differences, a message that acquires a deeper meaning in a time like the present.
On the lawn of the Manuzzi stadium in Cesena, Italy, the 1200 musicians played a real concert before a sold-out audience of 13,000.
A thrilling start, with Bitter Sweet Symphony from The Verve, building in a continuous crescendo through Beatles, Rolling Stones and Bowie, until a torrid final Led Zeppelin medley.
In short, a great performance, thanks to perfect technical organisation.
DTS was there with over 400 moving lights, at the very centre of the beautiful light show created by LD Claudio Tappi, who transformed the unique event into an extraordinary visual feast, in the best traditions of the great rock concerts.
The EVOs were arranged in backlight on a large matrix; The RAPTORs were positioned along the perimeter around the musicians and on the trusses; and the NRG 1201 units colored the audience.
The staging of the concert was made by B-HAPPY (technical sponsor of the event), directed by Fabrizio Persico, who has faced this challenge with involvement that went way beyond the normal rental company role.
DTS would like to thank the valuable collaboration of AMG International for the DTS moving heads supplied, and a special thanks to Francesco Penolazzi, sound engineer and supervisor of the project.
