HFA212 is a new Point Source loudspeaker made by Next Proaudio, a company based in Portugal, and that we had not come across before.
From what we could see at the fair, this is a product that has the right stuff, amplified in D-Class and on-board DSP, a Network with control software specifically developed by the company – available for free download – and quality components.
It mounts two 12’’ woofers and a 1,4’ driver with a dispersion of 80 ° x 60 °, but with the ability to mechanically rotate the horn to change the pattern itself. The internal DSP has six presets appropriately developed by the team of Next Proaudio, and two user banks that can be set as needed by the user.
Another detail worth noting is the temperature control that can be monitored in real time by the control software.
In any case, if the temperature reaches a dangerous level, the speaker does not stop outputting sound, but gradually lowers the signal in a homogeneous way without interrupting the sound program, avoiding unpleasant inconveniences …
LAm114xA is a stage monitor, with a classic shape and minimal footprint, with a 14’’ coaxial speaker and bass reflex at the bottom of the chassis. It offers a class D amplifier (1350 Watt), on-board DSP and the proprietary software Soundware, to control various parameters in real time, such as input delay, high and low pass filter, bass enhancer function etc. In the listening test at the fair (certainly not the ideal place), we experienced interesting timbres, especially for a balanced and “accommodating” sound.
