K-array, a 25 year old Italian loudspeaker manufacturer, recently unveiled its latest innovation, the Firenze touring line arrays. Models KH8, KH7 and KS8 complete the lineup. These self-powered systems offer digital “slim array technology” and acoustic steering with onboard DSPs for comprehensive operational flexibility.
A hang of 12 KH8’s can be set up in just under 15 minutes with a minimum of two technicians. Its diverse ability to easily configure the sound you want where you want it is due to the intelligent software exclusively made for the series. The KS8 Subs include two 21” transducers with an incredible 8500W of Class D amplification.
So far the Firenze Series has been featured in a number of major global festivals including the JZ Festival and Clockenflap in Hong Kong. The system has already been launched in the UK at the Barbican Centre, London and received recognition and support from some of the most influential FOH Engineers in the USA including:
Rick Camp (FOH Engineer for Jennifer Lopez, Beyonce and Chris Brown) “The Subs are real tight, I like what I heard, they were flying 12-boxes a side over a total of 18-subs, the headroom was crazy!”
Michael Apodaca (FOH Engineer for Prince and Kool and the Gang’s Larry Graham) “After mixing on this system, and experiencing its horsepower and transparency, I’m convinced that it will hold its own in the world market.”
Blake Smith (FOH Engineer for James Brown’s Bootsy Collins) “Mixing FOH for Bootsy, I often find myself pushing a system’s subs that I have for the day to their limit. The Firenze Series gave me everything I needed and more.”
Lou Mannarino (Audio Engineer for The New York Philharmonic) “The Firenze system is a new approach that’s built with the best components our industry offers. Combine that with Italian innovation, and the KH8 system declares itself a front runner. It’s controllable, incredibly musical sounding and responsive.”
