HARMAN’s JBL Professional is announcing the VRX Line Array Calculator (LAC) for its popular and widely used VRX Constant Curvature Series loudspeakers. The VRX LAC offers an accurate and easy-to-learn design tool that allows configuration of VRX systems prior to deployment.
“Since JBL introduced the first VRX loudspeakers, they have been used in virtually every imaginable environment, from theaters to houses of worship, sports facilities to schools, as portable or permanent sound reinforcement systems,” said Jon Sager, Senior Manager, Market Development, Installed Sound, JBL Professional. “The VRX Line Array Calculator will provide an effective sound design and simulation tool that builds on the successful heritage of JBL’s VTX and VERTEC® Line Array Calculator software.”
With the VRX LAC, up to four audience planes can be modeled. Adding ground-level seating, multiple balconies, stage areas and rear wall boundaries is simple. In addition, quick calculation of optimal array angles and gain shading offers smooth front to rear audience coverage. Visual display of rigging details on a separate “Array Configuration” page shows size, weight, and rigging parameters with built-in working load limit (WLL) design factor safety warnings.
The VRX LAC also enables two separate arrays to be used simultaneously. Adding a second rear delay array with the proper angles and relative volume is now easily accomplished. Moreover, ground-supported stand mount and subwoofer stacked arrays can be modeled just as they are used with the VRX products. Dual angle pole mount socket selectors show down tilt angles for increased aiming flexibility, while single point hang array angles can now be easily checked ahead of time.
The VRX LAC includes a quick start help file that can get any VRX user up to speed and using the VRX LAC in under an hour. VRX User Guides (for both passive and powered systems) are bundled with the VRX LAC for quick reference to specific questions that may come up when using VRX loudspeakers.
