QSC Audio Products, LLC is pleased to announce its revolutionary power amplification technology platform with the introduction of two new amplifier families, the CXD Series for Installed Sound Applications and the PLD Series for Portable / Live Sound Reinforcement Applications. Featuring advanced signal processing combined with a unique power distribution configuration, PLD and CXD Multi-Channel Processing Power Amplifiers completely redefine the rack-mount power amplifier category.

Housed in a 2U rack-mount configuration, CXD and PLD Series amplifiers feature new QSC proprietary class-D power devices, which enable multi-channel, high performance power. The innovative Flexible Amplifier Summing Technology (FAST), provides better power allocation by actively distributing the total amplifier power across one, two, three or all four outputs enabling amp channels to be combined for maximum current or voltage output with the largest models capable of up to 5,000 watts.
With independent DSP processing available for every channel, a preset wizard streamlines the setup process simplifying amplifier configuration and deployment. Advanced DSP includes cross-over filters, parametric EQ, alignment delay and other dynamics processing and when paired with QSC loudspeakers, Intrinsic Correction™ processing techniques may be employed to ensure optimum sonic performance. The integration of DSP with amplification means that the onboard processor is aware of what the amplifier is doing. This enables the dynamics processing and protection circuitry to be far more accurate and effective. USB interfaces on the rear panels allow firmware updates as well as the ability to upload loudspeaker tunings and configurations and transfer data between amplifiers. Multiple DSP-controlled power saving modes combined with the Class-D design ensure high efficiency, low weight, and economical cost of ownership.
Designed specifically for the needs of integrators, CXD Series amplifiers provide efficient, robust and extraordinarily high fidelity power capable of driving multiple amplifier channels and loudspeaker configurations while simultaneously deploying sophisticated digital processing – all with optimal energy and efficiency. The CXD lineup includes the CXD4.2 (400W @ 8 ohms, continuous), the CXD4.3 (625W @ 8 ohms, continuous) and the CXD4.5 (1150W @ 8 ohms, continuous) with the CXD 4.3 and CXD4.5 able to direct drive 70V and 100V systems. The rear panel features four (4) balanced Euroblock input connectors and four (4) Euroblock touch-proof loudspeaker connectors enabling integrators to terminate wiring before connecting to the amplifier. GPIO located on the rear panel offers additional functionality including a heartbeat output for Life-Safety supervision. In addition to their outstanding efficiency, the CXD amplifiers’ power saving modes further ensure that energy costs will be kept to a minimum over the life of the installation.
PLD Series Amplifiers, designed specifically for portable sound applications, provide efficient, robust and extraordinarily high-fidelity power to drive multiple channels of loudspeakers while simultaneously deploying sophisticated digital processing, all with minimal operational complexity. The PLD line consists of the PLD4.2 (400W @ 8 ohms, continuous), the PLD4.3 (625W @ 8 ohms, continuous) and the PLD4.5 (1150W @ 8 ohms, continuous). The rear panel features four (4) balanced XLR input connectors with loop-thru and six (6) Speakon® NL4 loudspeaker connectors for easy setup. The on-board processing is managed via front panel controls with 20 factory settings included for the most common applications. For more customized settings, the included Configuration Wizard helps streamline system setup and configuration. PLD amplifiers combine improved system performance with a wide and flexible range of options for future systems growth.
