d&b audiotechnik puts it in words at PLASA Focus Leeds 2013

Across the Piazza in the salubrious surroundings of the Bury Theatre another treat lies in store. Oran Burns and Steve Jones from the d&b audiotechnik Education and Application Support team will each be delivering another informative, entertaining and thoroughly engaging seminar.

On Tuesday 30th April from 11:35 to 12:35, Oran will present “Demystifying audio techniques.” Using visual images, practical demonstrations and discussion, the audience will be guided through the principles of acoustics to discover what constitutes a well behaved loudspeaker and how it affects what we hear.

The following afternoon, the same venue will play host to Steve Jones and the enigmatically titled “Why size matters.” How does loudspeaker size affect its whole performance? Can it affect its directivity? How about the direct to reverberant ratio? What does loudspeaker throw actually mean? To find out the answers and acquire a deeper perspective on the use of double entendre be at the theatre at 14:15, the session lasts approximately one hour.
