„InterAktives Licht“ at Luminale

At this year’s Luminale every internet user can become a light designer. The project is called „InterAktives Licht“ (interactive lighting). This is a co-operation between doitsmart.eventmanagement, Steinigke Showtechnic and Kameha Suite.

From April 11 to April 16 visitors to the website www.doitsmart.de/luminale will have the chance to determine in which colors the Kameha Suite will be illuminated during the Luminale in Frankfurt. The facade as well as the individual windows of the historic building can be colorized independently and then combined to an aesthetic comprehensive composition via a web interface. The virtual lighting concepts on the website then will become tangible on the event evenings in Frankfurt: Every composition created will illuminate the Kameha Suite for about one minute.

Cameras will document the event and will give the creator at home an actual impression of the virtually arranged surfaces. The coupling via web interface will enable an almost unlimited number of international visitors the possibility of active participation at the Luminale.

This is the fifth time the Luminale takes place alongside the Light+Building trade fair in Frankfurt Rhine Main. It is not restricted to professionals, but precisely the general public should become enthusiastic about lighting design. The festivals concept is based upon the most well-known, 150 year-old “fête des lumières” in Lyon, France. It was first established in the Rhine Main Area in 2002 and offers visitors with lighting projects, lighting art and lighting sound installations creative solutions for the use of light. Locations are museums, house facades, warehouses, streets and squares. Architects, designers, city planners and artists present their works of lighting art.
