Clay Paky lights “Qi – Eine Phantasie”

Qi  – eine Palast Phantasie”, also called “Kie”, is the latest show on stage at the Friedrichstadtpalast Theatre in Berlin. On the world’s largest theatrical stage, the ensemble offers energised dance and ballet, music and artistic creations in haute couture costumes, in an extraordinary setting. 100 artists are supported by a highly experienced lighting team headed by Olaf Eichler and a state-of-the-art lighting rig, including, amongst others, the new Clay Paky Alpha Spot HPE 300s.

Light designer Andreas Stübler commented: “All the technicians working on the project were enthusiastic about the new Alpha Spot HPE 300 from the very beginning. These projectors offer top level performance in terms of luminous output and speed”. [….]

The Clay Paky HPEs and other projectors on stage were controlled by 3 full-size grandMAs, 1 light grandMA, 7 MA NSPs, 2 MA 2Port Nodes onPC and 5 MA Digital Dimmers 12 x 2.3kVA.

Olaf Eichler and Andreas Stübler shared the role of light designer. Andreas Stübler also created the LED light design. Birger Krause, Tom Mommert and Martin Wagner programmed the grandMAs. Martin Wagner was also video and LED operator. Heinz-Jürgen Lokys, the audio video technical engineer, provided the lighting rig.
