The PLASA Product Excellence Awards, which embrace technical innovation and forward thinking, were presented on September 9th at the 2003 PLASA show in Earls Court, London. The Award was collected by Tony Griffiths PCM’s Project Manager, and Nick Dykins, Sales Manager from Slingco.

This is the second PLASA Product Excellence Award in consecutive years for PCM, who won the same Award in 2002 for their revolutionary Pilewind winch.

PCM’s MD John Jones comments, “This is really fantastic news for the company and the products we’re developing. It reflects the amount of research and the attention to detail that PCM has put in to bringing the appropriate products to the market at the right time. Obviously the challenge is on to produce the hat trick for 2004!!”.

The Unibar™ system was officially launched in June this year, and has already recently been installed at Barnsley College and The Princess Hall Aldershot with great success.

The Unibar™ is designed to conform to ‘BS7905 part 1` and the `Technical Standards For Places Of Entertainment` and allows for the quick and easy raising/lowering of suspension or lighting bars for scenery and lighting equipment with a motor-driven unit. Unibar™ is a flexible user friendly unit, designed to be installed onto any style of fixing or structure, including universal beams, trussing, channels and barrels and is also a cost-effective alternative to the more sophisticated power-assisted winch sets.
