Epson has launched a new projector that uses its renowned Original Prism Technology projection system. This unit has been named PowerLite 9100i Multimedia Projector.
The 9100i is particularly versatile, in fact it offers three different projection methods: front projection, rear/ceiling mount and stackable. The “Kensington Lock” style mechanism promises a very high level of security in every mounting situation.
The technical specifications include a 1.3 inches LCD with EPSON Poly-Silicon TFT driving method; and Active-Matrix of 1,398,784 pixels (1366 x 1024) per 3 panels. The unit supports SXGA as native resolution and the default aspect ratio is 4.3 (however, the projector also supports 16.9 and 5:4).
The projection lens allows manual zoom/manual focus/lens shift; the zoom ratio is 1:1.4; the lamp is 230W UHE, whose typical life is about 2000 hours, which can roughly be calculated as about 5 years (based on 8 hours/week x 50 weeks/year). The screen width ratio (Distance/Width) goes from 1.83 to 2.48:1, while the screen size (calculated on projected distance) goes from 21″ to 300″ (1.1m to 15.8m). Users can manually shift lenses of 0-10 degrees and andjust Keystone Correction electronically of +/- 30 degrees. The typical brightness is 2400 ANSI lumens, and the contrast ratio is 300:1.
The projectors offers a color reproduction is 24 bit, 16 million colors, and the built-in stereo speakers can deliver a 3W + 3W stereo audio output.
